Our history

New Whatcom Interiors was started by John Blethen in 1979, where he built a legacy of hands-on craftsmanship and personal attention to quality. After 40 years in business, John announced his retirement in December of 2023 and sold the company to family of a long-time employee.

A new chapter

The new owners, Jesse Griffen and Javon Smith, are committed to the same values of value and quality that have been the cornerstone of New Whatcom Interiors.

Our installer, Gary Griffen, is one of the best in the trade, and has helped New Whatcom Interiors provide in-house installations since 1982.

His son Jesse and daughter-in-law Javon are also the founders of Raven Ridge Builders, specializing in custom homes and boutique commercial spaces.
